Responsible AI

Also called Trustworthy AI, ethical AI

Responsible AI is a set of practices for building and using AI fairly, safely, transparently and accountably — with privacy protected, people informed and someone answerable when things go wrong.

In one line, for a 12-year-old

Responsible AI means using AI in ways that are fair, safe and honest.

An example

A school board publishes which AI tools it approves, what student data they may see, and who to contact with concerns.

Why it matters to people

Principles are easy to publish; the test is practice. Look for named owners, impact assessments, complaint routes and public reporting.
