Artificial Intelligence and Data Act (AIDA)
AIDA was Canada's proposed federal law to regulate "high-impact" AI systems, introduced in 2022 as part of Bill C-27. The bill died on the order paper when Parliament was prorogued in January 2025, so it never became law. Any new federal AI bill has to start the process again.
